1. Overview
At Carbon Source, we create digital assets designed to give creators, businesses, and creative professionals the tools to bring their ideas to life.
This Digital Product Licensing Policy ("License Policy") outlines the rights and restrictions associated with purchasing and using our digital products.
By purchasing, downloading, accessing, or using a Carbon Source digital product, you agree to the applicable license terms described below.
Purchasing a digital product grants a license to use the product. It does not transfer ownership of the original intellectual property.

3. Available License Types
A. Standard Commercial License
The Standard Commercial License is intended for individual creators, freelancers, business owners, and marketing professionals.
Unless a product listing specifies otherwise, this is the default license included with eligible digital product purchases.
Permitted Uses
The license holder may:
-
Use and customize purchased products for personal or commercial projects.
-
Create social media content, advertisements, presentations, websites, email campaigns, and other finished marketing materials.
-
Use purchased assets across multiple brands or projects managed by the license holder.
-
Create finished designs for clients as part of paid professional services.
-
Export, publish, and distribute completed designs.
-
Modify colors, typography, imagery, layouts, and other editable elements.
License Limitations
-
The license permits use by one individual.
-
Editable source templates may not be shared with other users.
-
The original or modified templates may not be resold or redistributed as editable design products.
-
Clients may receive completed deliverables but not unrestricted access to the underlying Carbon Source template library.
The Standard Commercial License is non-exclusive and non-transferable.
B. Extended / Agency License
The Extended / Agency License is intended for creative agencies, design teams, and businesses that require multiple users to access the same purchased assets.
Permitted Uses
The license holder may:
-
Use purchased products across unlimited internal and client projects.
-
Allow up to five authorized team members within one organization to access and customize the purchased files.
-
Create finished commercial designs for multiple clients.
-
Use completed designs in digital and print marketing materials.
-
Share purchased source files internally among authorized licensed users.
License Limitations
-
Access is limited to five authorized users within the licensed organization.
-
The license may not be transferred to another organization.
-
Purchased templates may not be resold, sublicensed, or distributed as standalone editable products.
-
External clients, contractors, and partner agencies do not automatically receive independent licenses.
-
Additional users or broader rights require written authorization from Carbon Source.
The Extended / Agency License is non-exclusive and non-transferable.
C. Custom / Enterprise License
Organizations requiring additional users, broader distribution rights, or specialized usage arrangements may request a Custom / Enterprise License.
Custom licensing may address:
-
Larger teams or organizations
-
Additional authorized users
-
Specialized distribution arrangements
-
Custom commercial usage rights
-
Other requirements not covered by the Standard or Extended License
All custom licensing terms must be approved in writing by Carbon Source.
No additional rights are granted unless expressly stated in the custom license agreement.
4. General Permitted Uses
Subject to the applicable license, customers may use purchased digital products to create finished materials for:
-
Social media and content marketing
-
Email marketing campaigns
-
Digital advertisements
-
Websites and landing pages
-
Brand presentations
-
Promotional graphics
-
Business communications
-
Print marketing materials
-
Internal business projects
-
Client deliverables
Completed designs may be published, displayed, and distributed commercially.
5. Prohibited Uses
Regardless of license type, customers may not:
-
Resell purchased templates as original or modified template products.
-
Redistribute, sublicense, share, or give away source files outside the authorized license.
-
Upload purchased templates to competing digital asset marketplaces.
-
Include purchased templates in downloadable template bundles or subscription libraries.
-
Offer purchased source files as free downloads or lead magnets.
-
Claim exclusive ownership or authorship of Carbon Source's original designs.
-
Make source files publicly accessible through unrestricted file-sharing links.
-
Use purchased assets in ways that violate applicable law or third-party intellectual property rights.
Modifying a template does not remove these restrictions.
6. Client Work and Deliverables
Carbon Source permits commercial use of purchased products in client projects under the applicable license.
Customers may deliver finished designs to clients, including exported images, PDFs, published web content, and other completed marketing materials.
However, the purchase does not automatically authorize transferring the original editable Carbon Source templates or reusable source files to clients.
If a client requires ongoing independent access to the editable templates, the client must obtain an appropriate license or receive separate written authorization from Carbon Source.
7. Team Access and File Sharing
Each Standard Commercial License is assigned to one individual user.
Organizations requiring access for multiple individuals must purchase an appropriate Extended / Agency License or obtain a custom licensing agreement.
Sharing editable files through Figma, cloud storage, shared drives, or other collaboration platforms does not expand the number of authorized users.
License holders are responsible for managing access to purchased files.
8. Intellectual Property Ownership
All original digital products and creative assets developed by Carbon Source remain the intellectual property of Carbon Source or their respective rights holders.
Purchasing a license does not grant:
-
Copyright ownership of the original templates
-
Exclusive rights to the designs
-
Trademark rights
-
Rights to redistribute source files
-
Rights to sublicense the original assets
Customers retain ownership of their own original content, branding, copy, and other materials added to the templates, subject to applicable law.
9. Third-Party Assets
Some digital products may contain or reference third-party fonts, photographs, illustrations, icons, or other creative resources.
These elements may be subject to separate licenses and usage restrictions.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a Carbon Source license does not grant rights beyond those Carbon Source is authorized to provide.
Customers are responsible for obtaining any additional third-party licenses required for their intended use.
10. License Duration
Unless otherwise specified, licenses are granted on a perpetual basis following a valid purchase.
This means customers may continue using purchased products under the applicable license without recurring licensing fees.
A perpetual license does not guarantee lifetime software compatibility, future updates, ongoing support, or permanent access to a particular download service.
11. License Violations and Termination
Carbon Source reserves the right to terminate a license for a material violation of this policy, subject to applicable law.
Where appropriate, Carbon Source may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the violation.
Upon valid termination, the license holder must stop using the affected product and discontinue unauthorized distribution or sharing.
Termination does not affect rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Refunds and License Rights
Refunds are governed by the Carbon Source Digital Product Refund & Return Policy.
Where a full refund is issued and the associated license is validly terminated, the customer must discontinue use of the refunded product and delete retained copies, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Updates to This Policy
Carbon Source may update this License Policy periodically.
The license terms applicable to a completed purchase will generally remain those in effect at the time of purchase, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
